TOOLBOX BUSTED WINDOW REPAIR
Просмотров 174 года назад
My truck was broken into and have to make a quick fix to at least cover the window before winter. I HATE THIEVES WITH A PASSION!
who needs a crane ! good back an strong arms . i am 64 😁
REAL GOOD JOB ,MAKING YOURSELF LOOK DUMB ..BOLTING TO TIN BED,THAT WONT HOLD CAT POOP
Learned that lesson the hard way and pulled the crane out soon after this. That was not a fun repair to do and also put in steel plates to help reinforce the bed. I still have a plan to flat bed the truck later on but it works for what I do for now.
Clickbait fucking title. You did not mount a crane on top of a toolbox.
love the hat
A 3/16" starter (pilot) hole is recommended prior to honkin' on that 5/8" bit. I just bought this crane from Temu ($280 free shipping) and am going to mount it on a hitch plate rather than in bed. Don't trash me until you see the end result. I'll post a link to my video here once done.
I learned that when I reinstalled it back into my truck along with steel backing plates. Also look forward to your video to see what you do as well. Best of luck on your install.
Good job
Thanks and it is still working to this day. Helps out greatly keeping temps down in the summer and venting out the shed as well.
That's a truck bed not a tool box
Get her done already 😂😂😂 I know i know i have no room to talk on the sunbird
There's 3 minutes of my life. I can never get back
I would have mounted it in the center
new vuer You start the video whining about the help and why you haven't been recording. after watching the first 12:55 of the video do you suppose that the workers couldn't put up with the abuse of your tools. You just got a new plasma cutter and a new welder because it was broken. You bring out the cutting torch you can't operate it and you use it as a hammer, I wonder if the employees had enough of destroying tools and or equipment that just wouldn't work.
How did you pick up tube handle all that?
There are some things you just can't explain
Your scaring me. Well , you could always use it for a wheel chock
I can’t even… that welding. All wrong.
Why?
What is the heaviest weight you have lifted? Looking to pick one up. Wondering if it can actually handle 2000lbs?
I have not taken to the max load limit yet due to my truck bed cracking around the base and also a few other issues. Heaviest has been actually lifting the one large riding mower up enough to get it off the ground to jack stand it. Just be careful and also know what your vehicle can take because you are only lifting from one side.
The instructions that come with these are crap. This needs to be mounted through the frame of the truck. Otherwise, you need reinforcement under the thin bed steel.
I learned that the hard way when I had to do some work and saw the holes in the metal. Now I have thicker metal for a plan to fix this once the weather improves greatly and allows me to put it back in the truck, that crane is extremely helpful with things.
Do you know if the 1985 720 4x4 is similar or not?
Cool video bro
Thanks

Hey do you mind if I use this video for my RUclips channel. I will credit you. Video will be cut just to show the cold start
Yes you may as long as you credit me.
@@BlazerProject ok I will. Thanks
not bad aside from the bottom lift arms being bolted up in the wrong place. All in pretty cool.
Yeah, sill needs some improvements but right now it will do just fine for the job.
Should wear masking gear
Ummm you know the tailgate clips off in seconds real easy right?!
I know, just wanted to see what the crane could do.
Good video if the camera was still for a second when in close. It makes me feel nauseous when its moving. You need a compressor that has greater than 7cfm and 90 psi output or you are wasting your time. The grit also needs to suit the gun and what you are trying to clean. Fine rust can be cleaned with Bicarbonate of Soda (Baking powder) or even crushed walnut shells both of which are environmentally friendly and safe on car body panels. Also a filter face mask as you don't want that dust and dirt in your lungs. Using normal sand is illegal in some countries as it can lead to silicosis.
I have learned a lot more since then and also upgraded my air compressor as well. Also got a better tripod for my cameras. I am getting some new coverings soon as well to do more sandblasting as well.
@@BlazerProject Excellent, I enjoyed your video and have just ordered a sandblast gun. I wish you every success. I think I will try working in a big polythene tent.
Do you know the part number on this product?
Its from Northern Tool....www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200672545_200672545 Hope this helps.
Check Harbot Freight....1/2T crane ~$180 minus coupons of 20-25%.
The simple mention of a 'collapsible sanding booth' gave me an idea to use one of those camping pop up shower or toilet tents that I have. Cheers
Glad I could help give you that Idea, Hope it works out for you. Good luck.
What was your swr readings once antenna install
I adjusted it from the book setup that came with the CB Radio. Also still working on it but working long days has not been fun. Hopefully I can get it figured out soon.
Thieves
Show us the work not your ugly face
There’s so many things I could tell you I’m a ham operator tech there’s so many grounds underneath your vehicle what do you think you needed it is a drill and a brush clean one of those bolts and then with the meter you check if you got a good ground go up you don’t have to go chase in from the front going to the Side going up believe me I told a lot of people I had to chase The wire
Run the cops are coming
Get a meter
I don’t know if you’re going to put a a spring like that if Has some flex if you hit something and a quick disconnect if you go into somewhere nobody would steal your antenna
Got enough LocTite on there? You only need one drop on the threads where the nut stops. I'm looking at this davit for loading engines in and out of the bed. I will definitely add an electric winch to it though.
The electric winch is in the works and when it comes to certain outside projects like this, I tend to go a little overboard with the Loctite. I know a little goes a long way but I did not want to have it coming loose either.
Nice vid.... Looking to buy the same.... And also looking to add on a wireless 3500 pound winch... Would love to see how you add one on and keep the manual option as well!!
Thanks and good luck with your install as well. Hopefully going to be strengthening up mine on the bed and add a stabilizer leg soon. The hand crank option is nice but an electric winch is just much more controllable in my opinion.
@@BlazerProject yes and gives you an extra hand
@@BlazerProject so are you having stability issues since your last install?
@@JB-wx4wo Not really but I need to strengthen up the base where I put it on the bed considering it likes to flex a little. Just having an extra sense of insurance when lifting is nice. I will have a video on it hopefully soon if the weather can cooperate at all.
@@BlazerProject good deal.... Thanks would love to watch an update... I will keep you posted on my progress...... So far this brand looks to be the most affordable without sacrificing quality.
Yeah I did the same with the pickle fork

You need to put the stud assembly on the bracket before the antenna with what plastic washer on top the pl259 coax connection on the bottom on the double female 3/8-24 on top of the plastic washer the washer acts as a insulator the shaft of your antenna is actually your positive connection so to speak and the piece you’re coax screws around is your negative not putting the washer in will give you bad swr and could potentially burn up your radio
I was wondering what that plastic washer was for considering it was not in the instructions. I will do that ASAP. Thanks for pointing that out.
@@BlazerProject Get it working? If you have an ohm meter check for a short between the center pin of the coax and the tool box. It should be open. If you read a short then you got the plastic washers stacked wrong. Here is a diagram. Hopefully the link works. www.rfwiz.com/image/cache/catalog/CB_11Meters/MountsBrackets/K-4A-2-500x500.jpg

Great earthquake fx
Awesome vid, thanks. Working on ball joints now and I guess I'll have to remove the knuckle off the control arms.. was hoping not to have to. To remove the drive axle is it just a snap ring?
As far as I can remember it is just a snap ring but it could vary from truck to truck. Take your time and you will do fine. Best of luck on the ball joints.
@@BlazerProject Thanks. Got into it and on my 95 4wd it is indeed just a snap ring and the shaft moves freely. Got the old joints off and abt to put it all together
@@geoffthats6839 Glad to hear that and hope all goes well.
All this body armor and nothing happens haha
How is the project so far? I hear radiator fans wont last long on continously runing?
They are going strong still. I only run them for a short time to cool down my shed in the heat of the summer and shut them off when I open it up.
Are you too lazy to drop the spare?
Good project
Makes cooling that shed off so much easier and not opening up a blast furnace as well. Thanks for the comment.
